We have two new PADI Instructors after Michael Griffn and Gareth Langeveldt travelled to Malta to gain their Instructor Ratings.

The IDC Course ran from the 30th October to the 5th of November and the Instructor Examinations were held in St Pauls Bay in Malta on the 6th and 7th of Malta.

Congratulations to both of them for passing with flying colours and then continuing on to complete their MSDT Preperation Course as well. The two lads will be actively teaching in the First 4 Scuba Dive Academy from now on.

Grif and Colin at Deco Stop          Wreck Diving at its Best

Our trip to Scapa Flow was one of the best trips I have ever been on for sheer enjoyment of diving at the wrecks on offer using the proper equipment.
Eight of us undertook the long journey by car through Ireland and Scotland over land and sea to finally arrive in the Orkney Islands - the final resting place of the German WWI Fleet among other great wrecks.

The weather was ok if a little windy for most of the trip and unfortunately two out of our six days diving were cancelled due to extremly bad weather and high seas. Having said that the diving we did do was superb and my second dive (Coln) slots nicely into my #3 dive of all time - no mean feat I can assure you.

There are some great trip reports and even better photo's available on the Forum and in Grif's blog so log onto the Forum if you are interested in these or what we are up to.

Getting Ready To Go     Divers Kitted Up and Ready to go.

The October trip to Kilkee was a definate success with decent weather for October and decent viz. Most people did the training dives that they came to do and some even finished their qualifications. Congratulations to John Pierce for completing his Advanced Open Water Certification and also to Ronan Doyle who completed his Deep Diver Specility Certification. The Deep Dive of the Advanced Course was particularly interesting, our thanks to Damien Joyce who was completing the Open Water Work for his dive-master course for helping Colin out in this dive.

There are a few trip reports available from the forum, log on or register for this if you are interested in the Club or what we do.
