Michael Griffin is 36 and has been diving since 1996. However since 2007 Michael has progressed through the recreational ranks and moved firmly into technical decompression diving. His passion for diving through multiple environments is infectious and he has trained extensively with numerous agencies to build competence and expertise in Shipwreck, Ice and Cave diving.
Michael is also a mixed gas diver ranging from Nitrox to Trimix and is a trained gas blender.
Michael holds qualifications from CMAS, PADI, DSAT, TDI and GUE and has a broad perspective on the fun and the spirit of adventure of diving. Michael travels around the world diving in the various and challenging environments he loves best. He has been keeping an active blog since January 2009 and this has a wealth of trip reports on his and First 4 Scuba's diving adventures.
As an instructor Michael is a complete professional. His huge passion for diving coupled with his extensive knowledge and expertise will greatly benefit any student taking a course with him. His teaching ethos is to create a solid foundation of knowledge and skill for his students whilst ensuring that they enjoy the experience of learning to dive. More importantly Michael will ensure that successful students will feel confident to advance through to continuing education specialities if they so chose.

When Michael is not diving he is the Operations Director of the Griffin Hotel Group, owners of the renowned Monart Destination Spa, recognised internationally as one of the top destination spas of the world, Hotel Kilkenny in Kilkenny and the Ferrycarrig Hotel in Wexford.
Michael's classes are taught from either Hotel Kilkenny (Kilkenny) or the Ferrycarrig Hotel (Wexford).
Michael can teach all PADI courses from complete "beginner" to professional Divemaster level:

Michael is also an EFR Instructor (Emergency First Response - Infant/Child/Adult) - AED/CPR & First Aid.
